Building and maintaining a strong military is one of the most important parts of running a successful Dune: Spice Wars game. Armies are made up of different Military Units that can attack targets and Militia that can be spread out to protect Villages. Because each group has different types of units, no two counterparts in the same class are the same. When it comes to maintenance and how well it fights, each unit will have its own needs and rewards.
Lansraad Punisher (All Factions)
The Lansraad Punishers are a mercenary unit that can be used by any party. They are a fairly new addition to the game. The Lansraad is a historical group made up of all the Great Houses. You can have more political power on Arrakis if you earn Lansraad Standing. You can also vote in the Lansraad Council, which is how you get the Lansraad Punishers.
These units are mostly used to destroy enemy buildings, and they do 200 percent more damage to enemy sites. Plus, the Lansraad Punishers deal extra damage of 100% to flying units and might also damage enemy armor 30% of the time.
Incinerators (Corrino)
One of the most destructive infantry units in the game is the Incinerator, which can only be used by the House Corrino group. Flamethrowers are used by incinerators to do a lot of damage, even to their own friendly troops.
It’s best to use these shock troops to weaken enemies before sending in more attacks. They can also be used to destroy enemy buildings. All hits from the Corrino Incinerators will not even bother the enemy’s armor, which makes their defenses pretty much useless.
Gunners (Harkonnen)
The Harkonnens are cruel, and their gunners are a good representation of that. This fairly simple Harkonnen unit is much stronger than other faction’s Heavy Weapons units, and it can be used to cause chaos early in the game.
Harkonnen Gunners will select enemies and deal damage that makes them Maimed, which slows their health regeneration by 50%. The Harkonnen Gunners will do 100% more damage to flying units and have a 30% chance to destroy armor, just like the Lansraad Punishers.
Wardens (Atreides)
When Atreides Wardens fight with swords and shields, they make the other people around them want to fight better. The Warden will be able to passively give all close allies an extra 2 armor. Even though these Elite units are pricey, they are well worth the money when you compare them to other fighting options.
To make a Warden, you’ll need 300 Solari, 20 Manpower, 5 Water, and 5 Command Points. Unless the controlled areas are very resource-rich, making large legions of them is not a good idea. The best way to use a warden is to lead larger groups into fight and help them.
Fedaykin (Fremen)
As expert Fremen infantry, the Fedaykin are a terrifying close-combat unit that may only be matched by the Sardaukar in terms of how well they can fight. It doesn’t matter how many enemies they have; these units will beat all but the best ones.
Fremen Fedaykin also have the “Against the Odds” perks, which give them 10% more unit power and +1 armor for every enemy unit they fight, up to five. This means that the Fedaykin usually get stronger as the battle goes on and more enemies join the fight.
Snipers (Smugglers)
The Smugglers have some units that look weaker than they really are. Their Snipers are one of the most impressive of these. These long-range, relatively cheap units have a number of unique skills, and they can become even more dangerous by adding more gear.
The Snipers do 30% more damage to non-mechanical units and become invisible when there are no enemy units nearby. They can only be seen from very close range. The Snipers are one of the most strong support units in Basket Random, but they should be kept away from hands-on battle.
Free Company (Smugglers)
The Free Company is a special group of highly trained infantrymen who are great at fighting close up. These strong mercenaries are a mix of killers and soldiers. They only care about the job at hand and will do what they are told without thinking about right or wrong.
The Sharpen Swords trait on Free Company units makes them stronger by up to 100% as the target’s health drops. This makes them very good at killing enemy teams that are hurt. The Free Company can also stay hidden from medium to long range with the Stealth ability, and they gain 10% speed when they get close to a battle.
Sardaukar (Corrino)
The legendary Sardaukar, the Emperor’s elite guard, are without a question the strongest units in the game. These elite melee troops are great at taking out enemy squads that aren’t as strong, and they work well as a second wave of attack against big enemy forces, just like the Free Company.
The Executioner power will be given to Sardaukar troops. This lets them kill enemies when their health drops to 20% or less. The Sardaukar also get an extra 5% health for every enemy group they kill.
